This is a long-term, nationwide study aiming to determine the quality, safety, and comparative effectiveness of various metabolic and bariatric procedures. Participants will be asked to complete a selection of PROMS (patient-reported outcome measures, i.e. in the form of a questionnaire) before and after their surgery, and that data will be used to determine the outcome of the study.
This is a non-randomized clinical trial involving approximately 200000 participants. The study began on March 2016 and is estimated to conclude on October 31st 2020.
All preoperative metabolic and bariatric surgery patients with surgery scheduled at a participating center.
Postoperative metabolic and bariatric surgery patients who have had their surgery within the preceding year at a participating center.
Metabolic and bariatric surgery patients without an already scheduled surgery date at a participating center.
Postoperative metabolic and bariatric surgery patients who are more than 1 year post op.
